THON™ Weekend 2026 is quickly approaching, and to further the impact, the THON community came together the week of February 9th to raise money towards different goals. The Week of Matching Impact is a new fundraising initiative where each day of the week sets a new impact goal. Organizations and Committees were able to participate in some friendly competition, as the top three fundraising participants had the opportunity to win different prizes on their allotted day of the week. Each day brought new matching opportunities for both general and student matching.
Here is a breakdown of this year’s impact goals and the organization type:
February 9: 540 hours of Child Life Support | Commonwealth Campuses & Committees
February 10: 214 hours of Four Diamonds research | Special Interest Organizations
February 11: 346 weeks of Art Therapy | General/New Multicultural Organizations
February 12: 258 weeks of prescription drug co-pays | Greek Organizations
February 13: 128 days of dedicated social work team | Everyone
To kick off the week, Penn State Commonwealth campuses fundraised to reach the Child Life Support goal. The top fundraising campus won a Dancer stage picture to take during THON Weekend. The campuses placing second and third with their fundraising efforts won crediting funds.
THON Committees also took part in the fundraising competition on Monday with the highest fundraising committee winning an extra floor incentive. The runner up committee got a sneak peek at the THON Weekend merch collection, modeling the new looks before they drop. The third-place committee is the Supply Logistics Captain Committee! They work hard all year to supply the fight against childhood cancer, procuring supplies for all pre-THON events and THON Weekend. Supply Logistics maintains relationships with donors and fosters new relationships to continue THON’s monetary and emotional contribution to Four Diamonds. Congratulations to Supply Logistics. Thank you for all you do for this community and the impact you all make!
Special Interest Organizations got their time to shine on Tuesday, fundraising to get a set of floor passes during the National Act, which takes place on Friday night of THON Weekend.
On Wednesday, General Orgs took to their DonorDrives, fundraising for a chance to win a pair of Finale floor passes.
Greek Orgs drove their fundraising on Thursday to get a set of floor passes during National Act. All second and third placing orgs received crediting funds.
To wrap up Week of Matching Impact and celebrate one week ‘til THON Weekend, five participants who received donations were selected at random to get $500 credited directly to their DonorDrive page! The top three fundraising organizations per selected participant will win one Finale pass each!
Although Week of Matching Impact has come to an end, THON’s efforts remain strong and in full swing. It is never too late to make a donation. We never know which dollar will bring us closer to a cure. Continue to show your support; growing up is a beautiful thing, and the generous donations of the THON Community help us fight for it.
