THON™ Dodgeball

From spirited costumes to fierce competition, THON™ Dodgeball united teams across campus in support of THON’s mission while celebrating community. This year, the event took place on February 5^th at the Multi-Sport Facility. Organizations, IDCs, and committees formed teams of six to eight volunteers to showcase their dodgeball skills. The top eight teams, based on performance, received crediting prizes at the end of the event. 

We spoke with Grace Davis, the Primary THON Chair for Schreyer’s Student Council, and a dodgeball team participant. When asked what she loves most about THON Dodgeball, Grace shared, “I love that my team was able to come together and support THON.” With THON Weekend approaching in just two weeks, Grace is especially excited to see the THON 2026 Line Dance and to spend time with her organization’s dancers throughout the weekend. 

We also spoke with Bodie Centore, Athletics Coordinator on Special Events. He shared, “I love the costumes and spirit. I’ve never been here before, and it’s great to see all the excitement and energy.”  Although he did not compete on a dodgeball team himself, he emphasized that the costumes, spirit, and energy throughout the event were undeniable. When asked what he was looking forward to for THON Weekend, Bodie expressed his enthusiasm for Athlete Hour and Pep Rally, events he helps coordinate in his role.  

THON Dodgeball showcased the power and impact of Penn State’s community coming together for a cause bigger than itself. From players on the court to friends cheering from the sidelines, events like THON Dodgeball remind us why we THON.
