The Season of Giving Campaign begins today, December 19th and will run until January 10th! During this campaign, the THON™ community will aim to emphasize our efforts to support children and families impacted by childhood cancer through fundraising incentives, THON Nation events, and social media storms. This is an opportunity to begin the new year by giving a gift and getting involved in supporting our mission throughout the Season of Giving.
Fundraising Incentives
The Season of Giving Lottery runs the entire Season of Giving campaign (Dec 19-Jan 10). For every $500 raised during the campaign, organizations and IDCs for their respective designation have the chance to win prizes including additional dancers and crediting funds.
Matching Day will be held on December 30th, beginning at 8 AM EST. There will be multiple opportunities for volunteers, students, and alumni to double their impact. Every additional $200 raised adds another ticket into the Season of Giving lottery. Throughout Matching Day, the committee that raises the most money will all win a piece of THON merchandise!
Campaign Events
On December 22nd, the Social Media Blizzard will be held. Beginning at 12 PM EST, tap into the @PennStateTHON Instagram story and share your DonorDrive link and THON’s mission with your social network.
The Give a Gift Initiative will run from December 26th to December 28th. As part of the ongoing Supply the Fight initiative, you can support THON by purchasing items directly from the Amazon registry.
Running the entire campaign, the Alumni Showdown Opportunity will encourage alumni to make an active impact through challenges that highlight the efforts of all 18 committees. Alumni can participateindividually, with their previous organization, or with their alumni chapter.
Throughout the Season of Giving, any gift cards collected from THON’s Need list (Amazon, Home Depot, Walmart, etc.), can be donated on January 12th through the Gift Card Initiative. Donating a gift card on this day will result in 1.5x the value in crediting.
THON Nation
During the Season of Giving, there are multiple THON Nation Games happening in major cities. The locations of these games include Miami, Cleveland, DC, and Philadelphia.
All methods of fundraising and crediting via THON Nation DonorDrive pages during this campaign can contribute towards the THON Nation Season of Giving Lottery. For every $200 raised during the campaign, there is the chance to win crediting funds or special recognitions depending on their respective designation.
On December 30th, every 3rd donation up to $100 to a THON Nation page will be matched until funds run out through THON Nation Matching.
Being just two months away from THON Weekend 2026, this community of students, alumni, and supporters can start the new year with hope for a future without childhood cancer.
To ensure that THON is able to donate 96 cents of every dollar raised to Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital, we heavily rely on donor support. These donations provide us the resources to create endless memories for our Four Diamonds families & foster a deep love & connection to our mission for our volunteers through Pre-THON Events, alternative fundraisers, & THON Weekend.
