Ignite The Fight Begins for THON™ 2027!

THON™ 2027 is officially on its way! 

Today, July 1^st, we celebrate members of the THON Community as we kick off the year and open our fundraising window. 

Ignite The Fight is an annual fundraising and awareness campaign built to inspire and prepare for the upcoming THON year. This opening campaign runs from July 1^st through July 31st and is filled with different fundraising incentives.

Ignite The Fight 2026 Fundraising Incentives 

DonorDrive Challenge: July 1 – July 9 

• Any student or alumni volunteer who registers a DonorDrive page from July 1 to July 9 will be entered into a lottery to win crediting funds towards the organization or Independent Dancer Couple (IDC) of their choosing.

Self-Donation Day: July 7

• In honor of THON 2027, make a $7 self-donation on July 7 for 7 entries into the DonorDrive Challenge.

Social Media Challenge: July 13 – July 15

• Join @pennstatethon on Instagram and follow the steps in the caption of the Social Media Challenge post to be entered into a lottery for a chance to win crediting funds!

Ignite The Fight Matching Day: July 16

• 8AM EST, every 3^rd donation is matched up to $100 until funds run out. At 6PM EST, every other student donation up to $10 is matched until funds run out. One lucky donor will be matched 2:1 to ignite our fundraising efforts for THON 2027! 

THON Nation Challenge: July 20 – July 24

• THON Nation is our sole third-party fundraising platform that allows non-student supporters, including alumni, parents, and friends, to fundraise on behalf of THON. This platform enables the creation of personal online fundraising pages through DonorDrive, so people can host or participatein fundraisers alongside the THON Community. 100% of funds raised through THON Nation can be credited to the organization, committee, or IDC of one’s choice. 

Share Your Spark: July 30

• Share Your Spark for THON 2027 and tap into the @pennstatethon Instagram story! 

July is just the beginning of an incredible year for THON 2027, and it’s up to all of us to take the steps toward a cure. There are so many opportunities to kick off this year. Imagine the impact we will make by the time February comes!
