At Penn State’s annual homecoming parade, the THON™ executive committee unveiled the theme for THON 2027: “Where Our Imagination Shines.”
The executive committee shared a collective vision behind the theme.
“We imagine a world where one day no parent has to hear the words, ‘your child has cancer.’ A world where we are dancing in celebration of a cure,” the committee stated. “The THON community comes together year after year, sharing this collective vision. And with that imagination carrying us forward, we are proud to share that the theme for THON 2027 is ‘Where Our Imagination Shines.’”
The THON community is committed to using that hopeful imagination to dedicate their passion and energy towards a better future for all children and families to one day dance in celebration of a cure.
Lauren Mellas, the THON 2027 Executive Director, shared more about her vision for the year.
“I imagine a world where THON is a household name across the country. But that vision starts here in our own backyard. There are still communities in Pennsylvania that have yet to discover what THON is,” she said. “However, we have an opportunity to change that. By spreading our hope and mission throughout the commonwealth, we are building a future where one day everyone in the world will know the impact of THON.”
The theme is an integral part of THON’s mission for the year and will serve as a guiding light for students, volunteers and community members as they commit themselves to providing emotional and financial support for Four Diamonds children and families impacted by childhood cancer.
THON 2027 is a place Where Our Imagination Shines, all in pursuit of a cure For The Kids®.
