  • Why did you want to become a director for the largest student-run philanthropy in the world? THON is more than just an organization at Penn State. It is a home for our volunteers, alumni, and, most importantly, our Four Diamonds Families. I wanted to become a director because I want to create meaningful and lasting change within the organization that has impacted my life in the most profound way. I THON so that every child has the opportunity to experience the joys of childhood and all that life has to offer before, during, and after their cancer diagnosis.
  • What are your main responsibilities as a Director for THON™ 2027? As Volunteer Logistics Director, I oversee and support the efforts of THON’s 17 committees, ensuring a meaningful and consistent experience for all committee volunteers. In this role, I develop educational resources and coordinate events that promote volunteer engagement, awareness, and leadership development. I manage Committee Member shift assignments for THON Weekend, oversee the First-Year Committee Member experience, and lead initiatives to standardize and enhance the volunteer experience across all committees. Additionally, I serve as an administrative resource to the Executive Committee, providing guidance and support on volunteer-related processes and initiatives.
  • What is your favorite THON™ memory? My favorite THON memory is from last year on Saturday of THON Weekend, when I was able to do a line dance with my sorority’s paired family on the floor. The joy of watching both my co-captains and the family enjoy something we had created was unlike anything else. In that moment, I truly felt the connection between our work as captains and THON’s mission. Those courageous families are the reason behind everything I do, and they continue to inspire me every single day.
  • What is your favorite quote?  “What THON Volunteers are doing has such a real impact. I know that it may be hard to see that while you’re doing it, but it truly has impact and meaning, and it’s so appreciated,” – Juniper Beckinger Family Story
  • What are you involved in outside of being a THON™ Director? Outside of THON, I recently completed my full-time student teaching semester in a fourth-grade classroom. In addition, I have been an active member of Delta Zeta and Harmony throughout my time at Penn State.
  • What are your plans after graduation from Penn State? After graduation, I plan to become an elementary school teacher and continue philanthropic involvement in Nashville, Tennessee!
