Communications Director

Arushi Krishnan

  • Year: Senior
  • Hometown: Chicago, Illinois
  • Major/Minor: Psychology/Women’s Studies
  • Why did you want to be a Director?: I had never heard of THON before I came to Penn State, and every year I am constantly amazed at the impact this organization has on children, their families, and the THON community. I knew I wanted to do as much as possible to give back to this organization that helped make Penn State feel like home!
  • What responsibilities do you have as the [position] Director for THON 2025?: As the Communications Director, my main responsibility is to serve as the primary liaison between THON and the Penn State Community along with the Communications Captains! We work to support Organizations and Independent Dancer Couples, further THONs DEI efforts, get new students involved with THON, and educate Penn State students, faculty, and staff on how they can support THONs mission throughout the year!
  • What is your favorite THON memory?: My favorite THON memory has to be the first time I stepped into the BJC THON Weekend as a freshmen in 2022. I was a Dancer Relations Committee Member, and seeing the BJC that weekend was a moment I will never forget. It filled me with so much happiness and excitement for the weekend and for all of the dancers- it was electric!
  • Favorite Quote: “A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives” ~ Jackie Robinson
  • What are you involved in outside of THON?: I work for Penn State Undergraduate Admissions to connect with prospective and incoming Penn State Students! I have also been involved in Penn State Homecoming for the past 4 years and served as the Internal Development Director for Homecoming 2023!
  • What are your plans for after you graduate from Penn State?: I am hoping to go to get my Master’s Degree in Counseling! And travel as much as I can 🙂

Ready to Make a Difference?

To ensure that THON is able to donate 96 cents of every dollar raised to Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital, we heavily rely on donor support. These donations provide us the resources to create endless memories for our Four Diamonds families & foster a deep love & connection to our mission for our volunteers through Pre-THON Events, alternative fundraisers, & THON Weekend.
