OPerations Director

Evan Kase

  • Year: Fourth Year/Senior
  • Hometown: Boiling Springs, PA
  • Major/Minor: Civil Engineering Major
  • Why did you want to be a Director?: I wanted to be a Director because I believe that doing as much as I can as a small piece in the massive puzzle of THON is the best way that I can positively impact others. I want to do everything in my power to guarantee that no family, child, or community battles alone, and I believe serving as a member of the EC provides me that opportunity! This cause is beautiful for endless reasons and believing in more tomorrows is what inspires me to do what I do!
  • What reponsibilities do you have as the [position] Director for THON 2025?: The OPPerations committee is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy environment at all pre-THON events and THON Weekend. I work alongside my 21 captains to guarantee that THON events take their form every year, from set up to tear down. My primary duty is to serve as the liaison between THON and the Bryce Jordan Center, and I also help to oversee proper waste management, event layouts, logistical procedures, and transportation of THON’s supplies!
  • What is your favorite THON memory?: My favorite THON memory was during Final Four of THON Weekend 2023, when I was working with fellow OPP CMs on the concourse minutes before dancers sat down. A BJC worker told us that we would have to restock every supply closet on the concourse (there are four!!) only 3 minutes before the 46 hours ended. Our team sprinted around the empty concourse to meet this request as fast as possible while Go Go Retro played Come On Eileen – it was amazing!
  • Favorite Quote: When life gives you lemons, make orange juice and leave the whole world wondering how you did it.
  • What are you involved in outside of THON?: I am a member of PSU American Society of Civil Engineers, Chi Epsilon Civil Engineering Honors Society, and previously an undergraduate research assistant, studying life cycle ecological impacts of solar fields. I also love camping, running, skiing, and trying new foods!
  • What are your plans for after you graduate from Penn State?: I hope to use my skills and knowledge as an engineer to help heal our planet and our communities!

Ready to Make a Difference?

To ensure that THON is able to donate 96 cents of every dollar raised to Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital, we heavily rely on donor support. These donations provide us the resources to create endless memories for our Four Diamonds families & foster a deep love & connection to our mission for our volunteers through Pre-THON Events, alternative fundraisers, & THON Weekend.
