Welcome to the Gift Card Initiative! The Gift Card Initiative (GCI) is an effort by Supply Logistics, Hospitality, and other THON volunteers to solicit and receive gift card donations from now until THON Weekend. The Supply Logistics and Hospitality Committees use these gift cards to get items that are not already donated, and plays a vital role in lowering THON’s internal costs—helping to ensure 96 cents of every dollar is donated For The Kids®.
Make a Difference with Gift Card Donations
Any THON supporter may donate gift cards! Accepted gift cards (listed below) may be turned into the THON Office or mailed to 227D HUB, University Park, PA 16802. If you would like to credit an Org/Committee/IDC please include the name.

Making Every Dollar Count
GCI plays a vital role in lowering THON’s internal costs. The items purchased with gift cards benefit many aspects of pre-THON and THON Weekend events!
Here are a few examples of how donated gift cards help THON:
Giant, Wegmans, and Weis gift cards are used to purchase dancer, Captain, and family meals during THON Weekend. GCI is helping to Fuel the Fight against childhood cancer!
A seemingly small Staples, Target, or Walmart gift card can be turned into a message seen by hundreds of thousands. Last year, gift cards were used to purchase foam boards used during the final total reveal on stage during THON Weekend!
We are always in need of toys, arts and craft supplies, and more, to welcome our families to THON Events. Using gift cards to purchase these items allows more of every dollar to be donated directly to help our Four Diamonds Families.
To ensure that THON is able to donate 96 cents of every dollar raised to Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital, we heavily rely on donor support. These donations provide us the resources to create endless memories for our Four Diamonds families & foster a deep love & connection to our mission for our volunteers through Pre-THON Events, alternative fundraisers, & THON Weekend.
