Meet Mark and Emma

The Giving Society Captains for THON™ 2025

 
My name is Mark Zecca and I am a junior majoring in Actuarial Science! I have been so lucky to be a part of the THON community in each of my years here at Penn State. My freshman year, I was a Finance committee member and a Donor and Alumni Relations (DAR) committee member my sophomore year! Being a DAR captain for THON 2025 will be one of the most memorable and exciting experiences during all of my years at Penn State! Let’s spread more smiles!
 
My name is Emma Decker and I am a sophomore at Penn State, majoring in nursing. In the future, I plan to become a pediatric oncology nurse. THON has always held a very special place in my heart and I cannot wait for THON 2025. During my freshmen year at Penn State, I was a Special Events committee member and this year I am a Donor and Alumni Relations captain. I am looking forward to THON 2025 and cannot wait to see the positive impact that we can make as a THON community!

Thanks to generous members of the Giving Society, THON 2024 was able to provide the equivalent of the following to Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children’s hospital:

  • 405 hours of Four Diamonds Research (24/7/365)
  • 20 months of funding towards child life programs
  • 90 weeks of child life support
  • 162 weeks of pediatric neuropsychologist support
  • 90 months of maintaining essential research equipment

Read More

Donations take 5-10 business days to be processed by Penn State’s Donor and Member Services Office. They will reach out to you within this time period with a receipt that can be used for tax purposes.

Giving Society Members will receive confirmation approximately 2-4 weeks after the donation is made to be eligible for THON weekend benefits. We must receive a donation by February 1, 2025.

Benefits of being a Giving Society member are based on the 3 tiers: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. To learn more about the benefits available, refer to the tier list.

To ensure that THON is able to donate 96 cents of every dollar raised to Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital, we heavily rely on donor support. These donations provide us the resources to create endless memories for our Four Diamonds families & foster a deep love & connection to our mission for our volunteers through Pre-THON Events, alternative fundraisers, & THON Weekend.
