THON 2026: Hospitality Director

  • Why did you want to become a director for the largest student-run philanthropy in the world?  I wanted to become a Director because I want to do everything I can to help this incredible organization grow in a positive direction.  Ever since I was young, I have watched the THON Weekend livestream and been in awe of what this community of college students can accomplish.  Since arriving at Penn State, THON has tremendously impacted my life in so many ways, from making memories to meeting new friends, and I wanted to further commit myself to accomplishing our mission.  No child should ever have to fight cancer, and I am honored to work with so many passionate volunteers to strive for the day we may dance in celebration of a cure.
  • What are your main responsibilities as a Director for THON™ 2026?  As the Hospitality Director, I am responsible for supporting 24 captains and approximately 300 committee members as we work to “Fuel The Fight” for all families, dancers, spectators, and volunteers.  I work alongside my captains to procure and serve all food and beverage donations at THON events, and I push important initiatives such as accommodating special dietary needs, emphasizing sustainable practices, and following food safety guidelines.  To minimize internal costs, I work to maintain strong relationships with Hospitality’s donors to ensure that all food and beverages are 100% donated.  On the Executive Committee, I represent HOS and collaborate with others to consistently find ways to improve THON.
  • What is your favorite THON memory?  My favorite THON memory is the time I spent with my family on the event floor during THON 2025.  I loved showing them around, supporting my friends who were dancing, and embracing the sea of colors and joy within the BJC.  There are so many other great memories that I will never forget, like watching The Fray perform, total reveal, and even teardown!
  • What is your favorite quote?   “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.”
  • What are you involved in outside of being a THON™ Director?  Outside of THON, I am involved in Delta Sigma Pi, and I love to run, talk about sports, and cook!
  • What are your plans after graduation from Penn State?  After graduating from Penn State, I hope to land a full-time job in the field of supply chain.

To ensure that THON is able to donate 96 cents of every dollar raised to Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital, we heavily rely on donor support. These donations provide us the resources to create endless memories for our Four Diamonds families & foster a deep love & connection to our mission for our volunteers through Pre-THON Events, alternative fundraisers, & THON Weekend.
