  • Why did you want to become a director for the largest student-run philanthropy in the world?  I remember walking into my first ever THON Weekend, it was so inspiring to see how every job and responsibility was being filled by a student volunteer. Each student involved has a tangible impact on children and families impacted by childhood cancer. Being a leader in this organization means contributing to a cause bigger than all of us. Seeing the smiles and opportunities our mission has created for our families has pushed me further and further to get involved.

  • What are your main responsibilities as a Director for THON™ 2026?  As the Event Safety Director, I manage a team of 24 Captains that work together to keep every THON Event safe and secure. I work closely with professional contacts and other volunteers to create emergency protocols and procedures. I oversee the production of Entrance Plan, the Pass system, Dancer Exit Strategy, and all emergency responses. I put the well-being of our families, spectators, volunteers, and dancers at the forefront of everything we do. I love the Event Safety committee because we ensure every THON Event can be about the magic of THON.
  • What is your favorite THON memory?  THON Weekend 2023 Family Hour. Hearing the families’ stories each week in committee meetings makes these families our superheroes and inspirations, so getting to see families share their stories on stage was a life-changing experience that reminded me why we fight.

  • What is your favorite quote?  “Slow down, you’re doing fine. You can’t be everything you want to be before your time,” from Vienna by Billy Joel
  • What are you involved in outside of being a THON™ Director?  Through my major, I am frequently teaching in different schools, gaining valuable experience for my future career. This year, I am completing pre-student teaching hours at a local elementary school.

  • What are your plans after graduation from Penn State?  After graduation, I plan to work as an elementary school teacher. I also want to get my master’s in social work, in hopes of one day working in child and family social work or counseling.
