Vole is the largest dance organization at Penn State with over two-hundred members. It is a Co-Ed all-inclusive dance company with endless opportunities to get involved. Vole offers many different dance styles including ballet, jazz, pointe, lyrical, hip-hop and more. Dancers can be placed in different levels of beginner, intermediate, or advanced. There is a perfect place for anyone wanting to be involved. Vole wants everyone to share their passion for dance! Sarah Grosch, a current Vole performance dancer says, “Vole has a place for everyone! Vole love!”.
The Vole performance company has many showcases and performances throughout the academic year. This includes a Fall and Spring Showcase as well as a big performance during THON Weekend. Additionally, not only can you make new friends and gain skills during the dance classes, Vole holds many social events as well. There are many exciting events such as retreats, socials, a Halloween barn party, formals, as well as a big/little process for all members wishing to do so. They also provide all members with the opportunity to buy stylish clothing merchandise to represent Vole around campus!
With Vole’s involvement as a THON Organization, they have been paired with Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity in the fight for a cure and For The Kids®. Between both Vole and Alpha Sig, they have been given five dancers this year and have two THON families. Vole and Alpha Sig really value their connection and time with their families. In fact, one of their big events throughout the year was their Family Weekend, where they hosted their THON families for a weekend of fun events such as 2000 Degrees pottery, drawing, creamery trip, decorating, painting canvas bags, and surprising the THON dancers! This was meant to be a time to bond with the families and raise money for THON™. Additionally, following the THON ice hockey game, Vole and Alpha Sig ice skated in order to bond before THON weekend! Vole and Alpha Sig are currently running an incentive program on Instagram with fun dares and activities in order to reach their fundraising goal of $100,000!
