Lorna Evans is a senior from Hainesport, NJ majoring in Veterinary & Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Gender and Sexuality Studies. Lorna is dancing on behalf of the Pre-Vet Club for THON™ 2021, supporting two THON™ families: the Colton Whitebread Family and the Lynn Brobst Family.

Lorna first got involved in THON™ by joining an OPPerations committee and Ohana her freshman year. She was inspired to be a part of the THON™ community through her older sister, who attended Penn State and was a member of the Lionettes. One year, Lorna and her sister drove almost 4 hours to go visit the Lionettes’ THON™ child performing in a play. Lorna explains how heartwarming it was to see that child and her family filled with so much excitement to see them supporting her, even outside of a THON™ event setting. This experience was definitely a great introduction to THON™, and a huge motivator for her to get involved with THON™ when she became a Penn State student.

Lorna is dancing from her make-shift BJC that is decorated head to toe with THON™ related motivation. It contains games like puzzles, a cheering section filled with stuffed animals, and a poster with inspirational sticky notes to remind her that thousands of people are still cheering her on even though she can’t see them. Lorna stresses how although THON™ looks a bit different this year, it is more important now to give people hope and happiness during these unprecedented times, especially For The Kids®!

Congratulations Lorna, you’re killing it!
