Bio

I am passionate about creative problem-solving, through art and technology. At Penn State, I am Co-Executive Director of HackPSU. I am also involved in Association of Women in Computing and Engineering Ambassadors, where important efforts are being made to empower future generations of engineers and inspire underrepresented groups in our fields. Thanks to Penn State, I have interned at Dell, the U.S. Department of Defense, and Capital One. After graduation, I hope to become a Software Engineer.

How has designing a THON logo impacted you after graduation from Penn State?

Designing the THON logo has showed me the power of art to create change and inspire others. I hope to use my creativity in order to start movements through the technology industry and code for good!

What was your inspiration for your THON logo design?

With the THON 2020 theme, “Journey Together,” I was inspired by the words of volunteers, “Together we can redefine the impossible.” In my design, I wanted to build upon logos from past years in order to tell the story of THON. From the children and families who stand together in the face of so many challenges to the volunteers that ensure no family impacted by childhood cancer has to journey alone. From the unimaginable accomplishments THON has achieved to the obstacles THON will overcome in the year 2020. And finally, the overwhelming sense of hope and strength at THON every year, represented by the flag.

What is your favorite THON memory?

After the THON 2020 Logo Reveal at the Family Carnival, I got off stage and a THON child ran up to me, gave me a big hug, and said “Good job!” The THON children, families, and volunteers are so strong, brave, and inspiring. I will value THON memories like this for the rest of my life!
