Gift Card Initiative (GCI)

Welcome to the Gift Card Initiative! The Gift Card Initiative (GCI) is an effort by Supply Logistics, Hospitality, and other THON volunteers to solicit and receive gift card donations from now until THON Weekend. The Supply Logistics and Hospitality Committees use these gift cards to get items that are not already donated, and plays a vital role in lowering THON’s internal costs—helping to ensure 96 cents of every dollar is donated For The Kids® .



100% Credited

Every dollar of a gift card donated from the accepted stores listed below can be 100% credited to the THON Organization, IDC, or Committee of your choice!



Get Involved

Any THON supporter may donate gift cards! Accepted gift cards (listed below) may be turned into the THON Office or mailed to 227D HUB, University Park, PA 16802. If you would like to credit an Org/Committee/IDC please include the name.

Help Supply the Fight

Donations can enter your Committee, Organization, Commonwealth Campus, or Independent Dancer Couple for a chance to win these great incentives! Every $20 credited in gift cards will result in a ticket in the incentive drawing. The cutoff for entrance in the incentives drawing is January 27th, 2025.

The Impact of GCI

GCI plays a vital role in lowering THON’s internal costs. The items purchased with gift cards benefit many aspects of pre-THON and THON Weekend events!

A Meal to Stand For

Giant, Wegmans, and Weis gift cards are used to purchase dancer, Captain, and family meals during THON Weekend. GCI is helping to Fuel the Fight against childhood cancer!




Totals to Remember

A seemingly small Staples, Target, or Walmart gift card can be turned into a message seen by hundreds of thousands. Last year, gift cards were used to purchase foam boards used during the final total reveal on stage during THON Weekend!



For the Families

We are always in need of toys, arts and craft supplies, and more, to welcome our families to THON Events. Using gift cards to purchase these items allows more of every dollar to be donated directly to help our Four Diamonds Families.
