Door-to-door solicitation is a great bonding experience during and outside of the designated fundraising weekends! Using solicitation cards while going door-to-door is an innovative way to spread THON awareness, and accurately and effectively fundraise.

To ensure a safe and successful door-to-door solicitation trip, please review the following checklist:

1. Obtain permits when required by local municipalities
2. Introduce yourself in a polite and courteous manner
3. Carry a valid Penn State student ID and wear Penn State or THON apparel
4. Be able to speak intelligently about THON, and be prepared to refer someone to THON.org to legitimize your purpose
5. Present a solicitation card to the potential donor and provide them with instructions on how to donate online and credit your organization
6. Always solicit door-to-door with at least one other member of your organization

Solicitation cards are available in the THON Office, 210 HUB, and at materials distributions prior to canning weekends. Please make sure your organization's name and number are clearly printed on the solicitation card. Also, make sure to thank your donor, and remind them that their support is aiding the fight against pediatric cancer!

If an individual would like to donate on the spot, please make sure all checks are made payable to the Penn State Dance Marathon. Checks and cash are to be returned to the THON Office immediately following your trip.
