All Captains
Supply Logistics, as a committee, is responsible for getting supplies donated in order for THON 2009 to function and to be a success. By maintaining the relationship with our donors and by contacting new donors, we continue to lay the groundwork for future dance marathons. We work year round contacting businesses and corporations for the in-kind donations needed to make all events leading up to THON and THON weekend possible. In addition, we are also in charge of Dancer Bags, Dancer and Committee Shirts, the THON Raffle, and the 5K Runner Bags. This is a great committee to join if you are interested in contributing to the success of THON 2009 as a captain!
Administrative Assistant (1)**
This captain will be in charge of general tasks like taking minutes and managing communication within the committee. (S)he will also be in charge of THON’s relationship with the local business, ProCopy, and will take care of other committees’ copying needs. Another responsibility of this captain will be to oversee the gift-card initiative, which means working with major chains such as Wal-Mart and Target to get gift cards that can be used to get supplies that are needed last minute. This captain will also be a liaison to the Donor Relations Committee to make sure that supply donors have been given the appropriate benefits. It is important for this person to be very organized and good at multi-tasking.
Inventory and Distribution (1)
This captain will be in charge of THON storage located in Pennypacker Hall. They will take inventory and organize all of our current supplies and all of the incoming supplies arriving year round. This captain will know the ins and outs of THON storage and will distribute the supplies to the appropriate committees and places for the events leading up to THON and during THON weekend.
Committee Liaisons (3)
These captains will form a small sub-committee in charge of keeping track of supplies and requests from start to finish. They will be the experts on who requested what, storage inventory, and the status of requests. They will work together as a team to keep a running inventory of supplies in storage, and act as the link between Supply Logistics and all other THON Committees. These captains should be very organized and extremely good at communicating. It is their job to ensure that every committee is represented and that all of their concerns are heard.
Liaison 1: Morale, Entertainment, Donor Relations, & Finance

Donor Contacts (18)**
This group of captains will work to get the supplies requested by all of the THON Committees and represent THON to potential donors everywhere. They will work throughout the year to form professional relationships with these donors. This can involve speaking with managers and representatives at companies both large and small, and forging a relationship that will hopefully not only benefit THON 2009 but will be in place for years to come. These captains should be business-minded, enjoy making deals with professionals, and have a talent for making strangers fall in love with THON. Enthusiasm is key! These 18 captains will be broken down into the following sub-categories:
• Arts, Crafts, & Fabric
• House Wares, Cleaning, and Medical Supplies
• Paper & Office Supplies
• Paint, Hardware, and Lumber
• Toys, Games, and Sporting Goods
• Technology and Random Needs
**These are positions in which several captains may dance.
