The variety show is always one of the favorite events for dancers and all of THON, since you families are our inspiration. We want to include as many acts as possible this year, and we will be having two variety shows during THON weekend.
Due to the overwhelming response to the event last year, participation in the Variety Show will be based on a first-come-first-serve basis. We will do our best to include everyone, so please have your registration in on time!
In order to include as many kids as possible, Hershey’s Music Therapist, Jan Stouffer, will be performing with everyone interested. Please note this on your events registration if you would like to participate in this performance!
If you are interested in participating in this year’s amazing Variety Show, “THON’s Fireworks: Ignite Your Light and Let it Shine,” please register here by December 5th. Also, please mail in any music that you need to use to ATTN: Kaylee Tully THON 2012 Family Relations Overall Chairperson, 210 HUB University Park, PA 16802.

Do you want to get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of what THON captains do THON weekend? If so, then Captains in Training is the perfect program to register you! This program allows your kids (ages 4+) to help different THON captains in the duties that they perform during THON weekend while spending time with other kids! Check out the committee options on the online registration form to find the perfect fit! Please register here by December 5th.

Step up to the 50 yard line! It’s your turn to be MVP! All Four Diamonds children are invited and encouraged to participate in THON 2012’s Fashion Show “Future Lion: Sporting the Latest Fashions” during THON weekend. Not only will the kids get a chance to rock some trendy PSU apparel, but they will also be entertaining and motivating the dancers to keep standing strong. If your Four Diamonds child is interested, please complete the enclosed registration form. Due to the popularity of this event, children will be selected on a first come, first serve basis; please don’t delay your registration! Make sure to include your children’s age and clothing sizes; please specify whether it is an adult or youth size, and your child’s gender. A Family Relations Captain will call you to confirm your child’s participation and sizes prior to THON 2012.
*Due to the high participation in this event, please remember that this is for your Four Diamonds child only and that the first 50 to send in their registration will be invited to participate.

Does your child want to see the Penn State Football locker room? Lead a cheer with the Penn State Cheerleading Team? Then, register for the Penn State Wish Program! The program is set up to give Four Diamonds children and families the opportunity to participate in an exciting Penn State activity of your choice during THON Weekend!
Other wishes that have been fulfilled in the past include riding horses with the Equestrian Team, touring the Berkey Creamery, playing soccer with the Penn State Men's and Women’s Soccer teams, hanging out with the Penn State Blue Band, rocking out on stage with DJ Larry Moore, and many more! All wishes will be granted on the Saturday of THON Weekend, during the early afternoon hours.
We ask that you select your top 5 choices and the FR Captains will do their best in matching you with your choices. Each family will be allowed to attend one wish. Each wish and description is provided in the registration. Please register here by December 5th.

Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! This year Kids Mail Call is going on a Safari!
It’s going to be a wild journey to collect the bags of mail that Penn State students have been writing for you all year! There will be adventurous games and crafts along the way that kids will be able to play along with dancers. Join us on this safari Saturday night after the Family Variety Show; it’s going to be a wild time! Please sign up here by December 5th so we have an accurate idea of who would like to participate!

On Friday night, while parents are at the Parent Info Session, kids will have the opportunity to be paired with a THON 2012 captain who will take the kids on a scavenger hunt throughout the BJC! This is a great way for the kids to interact with the dancers, different captains and committee members, as well as everyone else that helps make THON happen. It will be a great time! Please sign-up here by December 5th!

For the past 5 years, THON has partnered with Wigs For Kids, and while several other organizations create hairpieces, THON has chosen to work with Wigs For Kids because they provide children and families with wigs at no cost to the families. Wigs For Kids was founded by Jeffrey Paul in 1981 and provides custom made hair replacements. Each piece is handmade and made completely from human hair. The hair pieces Wigs For Kids provides children allow them to feel better about themselves and look the way they did before. By doing so, they are helping kids to feel like kids again.
