Location: Bryce Jordan Center (Corner of University Drive and Curtain Road in University Park, PA).

Parking: Parking for participants will be available in the Stadium West Parking Lot, accessible from Park Avenue, as well as the Jordan East Parking Lots, accessible from University Drive and Porter Road. Four Diamonds Families will receive priority parking in the Stadium West Parking Lot. Note: parking is limited. If you live on campus or downtown, please plan on walking or taking the bus to the event.
Age Brackets:
Runner Number Distribution Week is October 9th – 12st on the first floor of the HUB between 9am – 5pm. Please bring your confirmation receipt e-mail with you. The Registration tent will close at 10:30am the day of the THON 5K so please pick your runner number up earlier if possible!
If you registered for the Competitve Run ($18.00) with chip timing, you will pick up your chip and runner number the day of the THON 5K at the Registration tent. Please bring a copy of the confirmation receipt e-mail with you.
A complimentary lunch will be served to all registrants following the THON 5K.
We will again be crediting organizations this year for THON 5K registration fees! In order to receive credit for your registration fee, all organization members must pre-register by Thursday, October 11th. Organizations can expect to see their registration fee reflected in their fundraising total on THINK about two weeks after THON 5K Registration.
THON Merchandise will be sold again at the 5K. Credit cards will be accepted!

THON 5K Frequently Asked Questions
What is the THON 5K?
The THON 5K will kick off the THON 2013 season on October 13rd, 2012. It is an annual 3.1 mile run/walk supporting THON’s goal of raising funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer. Proceeds from the race will be added to THON’s financial total which aims to support the Four Diamonds Fund. How do I register for the THON 5K?
The Fun Run registration fee is $15.00 and the fee for the Competitive Run is $18.00.
Participants are encouraged to visit here (link to registration page) in order to register for the THON 5K online. . Paper registration can also be found on www.THON.org and turned in to 210 HUB or mailed to “THON Attn: Special Events 210 HUB, University Park, PA 16802”. Checks can be made payable to “Penn State Dance Marathon.”One person per registration please.
What time is the race? How early should I arrive?
The registration tent will open at 8:00am. If you have not already registered or picked up your runner number in the HUB you will need to visit the registration tent at the 5K to do so (Please see “When do I pick up my runner bag and number?” for more information on runner numbers). The registration tent will close at 10:30am and there will be a line. Therefore, participants should plan to show up early in order to register in time for the start of the race.
The Kid’s Race will take place at 11:00am and the THON 5K Race will take place at 11:30am. Lunch will be served shortly after the race starts.
When do I pick up my runner number?
You must have a runner number if you are going to participate in the race. THON will also be giving out a limited number of runner bags and 5K t-shirts to registrants who pick up their runner number from October 9th to October 12th in the HUB-Robeson Center on the Penn State campus. Runner Bags and 5K t-shirts will be given out on a first come-first served basis. Please bring your receipt or confirmation email with you in order to receive a runner number.

If picking up your runner number on race day, make sure to show up early. Registration will close at 10:30 AM and there will be a line!
Can I participate if I’m not involved in THON?
Of course! We encourage anyone to participate in the THON 5K!
Do I have to actually run in the THON 5K? What sorts of activities will be there?
You are not required to run in the THON 5K. Many participants enjoy walking the race with a group of friends. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Larry Moore and local entertainment groups. THON merchandise will be for sale, and many fun activities will be taking place during and after the race. Lunch will also be provided for those who have registered! Winners of each age and gender bracket will receive awards as well.
What should I wear?
Wear something comfortable for the race and prepare for possible inclement weather. THON 5K t-shirts will be available for purchase at the race as well as other THON merchandise.
