Kids dream about growing up to be many things: firefighters, teachers, doctors, professional athletes, and even superheroes. A child with cancer simply dreams about the chance to grow-up, and for years Penn State students have been working tirelessly to make their dreams come true.
Even after graduation, there are still many ways for THON’s dedicated alumni to fundraise and support THON’s mission of conquering pediatric cancer providing outstanding emotional and financial support to the children, families, researchers, and staff of the Four Diamonds Fund.
Every day online fundraising becomes more and more prevalent in the world of philanthropy. This simple, yet effective form of fundraising allows all THON supporters, including alumni, to send an email to potential donors informing them about THON and showing them how to donate. You are able to input your information and add a post scriptum message to make the email more personal. The THONline email for Alumni can be found here.
Penn State students graduate and move all over the country and globe. Spreading awareness to all of these areas will be able to help THON grow and prosper every year. Alumni fundraisers have occurred in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Washington D.C, New York, and even Los Angeles. The Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group works with many different regions to help these fundraisers be as successful as possible.
